We finally made it through Texas to Arroyo Seco, just North of Taos. We met up with Chris, and he showed us to our lodgings for the night. A teepee!!!

While driving that night, we came across a mysterious roadkill. We turned the car back around to investigate because of it’s enormity. It was a great horned owl, native to Oklahoma. It had beautiful plumage, and massive talons.

Ella Jane created a clearing in the backyard. Her space was known as the fort. It was a space where she could observe nature, and have some quiet time away from the Wii.

We got to interview Henry about his favorite space. It happened to be his Nintendo Wii. An interesting choice as it is obviously entertaining for hours to a young boy, but offers a virtually infinite range of spaces to be transported to.

Arriving in Stillwater, OK, we met with Barney, Mary, Ella and Henry Ludwig. Family of Nara’s. We went directly to Hideaway Pizza, where I procured and amazing tie-dyed t-shirt with the help of the kids. We should mention the largest landmark in town is the home of Garth Brooks (well it was from 1987-1988)
